I grieved for the frail, dying light,
As the tears cascaded down my cheek,
That blessed curse that sends men to their graves,
Set fire to your tears.
A night old burn may simmer inside you,
The wild blinding light will scorch your eyes,
Your wings are blackened although your soul soars,
Set fire to your tears.
I am sick in my health and serious in my vanity,
But hope will emerge from the burning bright smoke,
She is gone now but you are still here,
Set fire to your tears.
The coffin is closed,
Your eyes are still open,
Scolding ashes dance on your skin, they burn your flesh yet your soul still flies,
Set fire to your tears.
