Carnage

The bus was twenty minutes late and he was deciding if it was time to walk. Looking out from his shelter he judged the weight of the rain. It was heavy but not a downpour, the air was chilly while stood but a brisk pace would sort that. So where was this damned bus, traffic was free flowing and if anything too fast for the conditions, what was the hold up? Maybe I should just walk he thought to himself as he judged the situation, there was of course the package to consider. If he didn't make a move soon the contents of the package would soon not be contents and would begin to seep.
Just then she caught his attention, there was a girl running towards the exit of the park opposite him on the other side of the road. The exit to the park was on the blind side of a bend in the road, that was bad town planning and plain stupid of course. Even the trees stood in an effort to obscure the exit from oncoming traffic. And there she was with her jacket pulled over her head without a care in the world. Her hair appeared blonde, her figure just perfect, her denims were tight and he wondered how her bum would look in them. She was heading straight towards the road with no let up and no attention. Oh no! She dropped her mobile, stopping momentary she turned scooped it up checked it was in one piece and then... Then she just ran out into the road without a care, it was like a gut reaction, knee jerk mechanism he went to shout “NOOOO...”
But then he thought, I have never seen anyone knocked down before! The words didn't reach his lips and he clasped his jaw shut.
He stood and he watched the car round the bend far too fast. It caught her about her thigh level and the impact and skid of the brakes occurred at the same time, the driver didn't see her until that moment. The sound was a dull thud and the force sent her over the bonnet with such speed. Her head hit the windscreen, smack, he swore he saw the blood spray.
Delicious!
The momentum careered her clear of the roof and she hurtled through the air like a rag doll tossed from a child’s cot. It was impossible to say how many spins she made but when she landed, upended, her head and shoulder met the road like a hammer blow. Bone splitting against the hard cold surface, her head at a crazy angle she died there, but the body cart wheeled up and over leaving the ground until her legs hit the road. Snap! Like matchsticks between fingers they went, the sound this time was undeniable, like a strong wood being split, the collision was relentless.
He thought he felt a twinge down there but couldn't be sure?
The third impact was more of a roll, arms flaying, head rolling and body scraping. The blood splatter was trailing a pattern across the tarmac.
Surely not, no this was too much, a truck came hurtling around the bend, this driver too had not seen until too late. The brakes went on but it was inevitable the front right wheel went hard over her as she lay on her front. It hit her around shoulder height and her face was towards him and as the weight of the vehicle was upon her. The body exploded and out came her insides with such velocity, through her mouth and out of her torso.
For a split moment there was silence, the chain of events ended as suddenly as they had begun. Her entire body had extended as the weight of the truck tyres twisted her form over four feet of the road. Guts, blood and tissue washed the blackness of the ash felt with crimson rich grease.
Amazingly her facial features were just intact and they twitched as the nerves died.
Divine.
He forgot about the package at that moment.
The life had left her but the shine of that passing still etched on the blood drenched corpse, even now broken beyond repair.
This time there was no doubt, there was more than a twinge down there.
In as soon as the silence came the noise had returned. It was chaos, shouting screaming and feinting from all directions. So nobody noticed him take his mobile out of his pocket and open the camera app. Walking towards the carnage he zoomed in and took several close pictures even adjusting his focus. Then turning on his heels he walked off in the other direction, one last glance over his shoulder and again the growing strain down there.
But the package! Too late to stop now, for someone else too this was going to be a very bad day.
And then a definite swelling in his pants another thing to now take care of.
The End
