Come in all shades of trouble

Wrapped up all pretty

In effortless struggle

 

Come along if you dare

Find out who’s the wild hare

It will give you a scare

To know which ones won’t care

 

The journey has just begun

Spread word by sour tongue

Come along my fickle friends

Find out how the story ends

 

But amongst the rotten apples

You just might be so lucky to find

A red one, so shiny

It’s one of a kind

 

See keep watchful eye

Of people passing by

And occasionally make move

To reach out and try

 

Not all apples are rotten

Some ones are sweet

Some ones are mellow

A delightful treat

 

But beware of the worm

That may linger inside

Who hears all your secrets

Listens to you confide

 

Whispers advice

Not always the best

Trickles down misguidance

Leaves the poison to the rest

 

Perhaps I may have frightened you

From friends and foes alike

Just be cautious and careful

And you’ll be alright

 

But in case you’re still scared

You’re left unprepared

Don’t forget my dear child

That many have fared

 

Not all apples are bad

Have you not heard them say

That an apple a day

Keeps the doctor away?
