the wings of happiness

While happiness was dying
a butterfly landed on your heart
kicking the revolution
out for a time
How strange to feel something
where skin meets cold steel
that has been slowly swallowed
by fates inevitable bite
You enjoy this strange feeling
Its warmth goes beyond
the heights of your sadness
a guiding light out of night
Grasping your dull knife
you cut and you slice
blood flows freely again
where once it was ice
You slept for so long
within your cocoon
spread your fair new wings
and fly once more
