Chapter 19
Bradford Telegraph & Argus 24 January 2014
Human Skeleton Found on Moor Identified
Local police have confirmed the identity of the man whose body was found at a beauty spot on Baildon Moor late last year.
Bingley man Joe Simmonds (28) who had been reported missing in 2001 by worried family members, was this week conclusively identified using DNA records.
‘At last we can put this behind us and move on,’ his father Jim told the Telegraph & Argus. ‘It’s been a terrible thirteen years not knowing what happened to Joe but now we can say goodbye properly.’
An inquest returned a verdict of accidental death. The coroner’s report stated that in all probability Simmonds had become lost walking on the moors in bad weather and received a fatal head injury by accidentally falling into the abandoned mine shafts that litter the area.
The funeral will take place at Nab Wood Crematorium on Thursday.

So - no rest for the wicked! Will he ever be found? I would really like to know!
