We were waiting for news,
there are dumpsters simply brimming.
It is too nice a day to be living in England.
I am in Art Burger,
sat along rotating pine benches.
I know what my friends think,
my big sister rings to say she is riding around.
I wanted to take a picture of these four workmen;
Suzie found tusks as long as her finger,
a length of lead piping.
I’m imagining that this is your trailer.
I made a grown woman cry last night;
Ma’am, I am imagining you.
A clutch of swifts pass overhead.
It’s like a mosh pit, says the girl with the blue-striped tights.
Here is what made me think of death:
their teeth were scrabble tiles.

Cheers,
