Christmas Sprite

The Christmas Sprite is an elf in ermine
a pixie from a Celtic bog
he lights some mistletoe and holly
for peats sake making quite a fog
he swaps name tags on the children,s gifts
and cellotapes the dog

He likes to sit in comfort
in our best armchair
I don't suppose I'd mind
except Granny once sat there

They had such jolly chats
Granny and the Sprite
setting all the world to rights
way into the night
Granny 'd have a whiskey
Sprite would have a gin
They ,d both get slightly jolly
and end up with a grin
