Polly Amory
Polly Amory is Bill Sykes moll
or would be
if she bound her breasts like a flapper
and drank pink gin
an object of beaten bronze shining like rubbed brass
she is very art deco, varnished and poised
but the image of something not the thing itself
all sophisticated surface
cousin Screwtape is so engaging
strolls on a cammomile lawn
witty,plausible rational
appealing like Bill when he wheedles ,all needy child
beguiling,full of cooing charm
loving friends thats the thing
one is never bored or lonely
one just dips into pleasant poly pools
any of the many pools
always bright,always smooth and admiring
everyones best angle, best knickers always new
but just a toe
or he'll go
or she'll go
and the bond is as fragile as the tension of water
as sticky as cheap boiled sweets
a language far from a nakedness of souls
