Leech of the World, Chapter 5, Part 2

It was about time this enigmatic enemy made its appearance as trees fell and the stomping was getting louder and louder.
A shiver went through her back.
Azur took a second to take a good look at the army while raising the trident, some of them were scared, the Shadows were hidden in Rekzot’s and Suxuq’s actual shadows to provide assistance, Aqua was raising the morale of her followers as well as Mavlov and Brey at the very front of their unit.
Out of the thick bushes that were far at Azur’s right a glimpse of an unmistakable Sky Blue reached her eyes.
The stomping stopped.
Azur’s instincts kicked in and used her most powerful technique 「Endless Flow」: A style of combat that makes her move incredibly fast, making time basically slowing time for her alone.
Only then, when everything else was moving really slow was able to see it, an ethereal dark figure, like her shadows, but with four arms and on each a dagger that could be mistaken by its own hand. This thing was mere meters away from Ephiri who sneaked her way into the battlefield.
The thing was too close to Ephi and no one else could help her, in fact the other Krygnym hadn’t even reacted at all.
She was not going to make it.
She trembled for the first time in her life, it didn’t even last a second on real time but to her it felt like an eternity.
A white symbol with a blue aura appeared on Azur’s forehead and her right arm that was making an upwards motion as to uppercut someone but with her open hand, at the tip of her fingers a light that looked like water started to erupt, slowly making a translucent crescent moon.
Once half of it was done, time resumed normally.
To everyone else a flash of light just went flying out of Azur’s right. This made a deep cut in the ground as if it had been cut with a blade all the way to the trees that fell after being cut in half.
“Wahhh?!” two voices that sounded like three squealed from a bush and ran away from the falling tree.
The first one to react was Aquara who rushed to Azur’s side.
“What happened?!” she was still completely unaware of Ephiri.
“Something attacked Ephi!” Azur said while breathing heavily and holding her right forearm with the hand that she had the trident on.
Dumbfounded for a moment she followed where Azur was pointing at and Ephiri came out of the bushes to the plains running towards them.
-Centipedes form the Great Millennium Archives
The smallest recorded Centipede is about 3 meters long and almost 60 centimeters wide. These enormous insects keep to themselves deep underground on the Millennium Archives. No Human or Earthling Historian has ever visited them, it’s like the Heaven for those that want to know all the secrets in the world, or so the legends say. In reality they are a place where any and all living beings can trace not only their family tree all the way to the beginning of times, but also their past lives.
Once someone dies, their souls walk a path towards Dulener’s Garden at the center of the Palace of the Dead, in there she lets them know if someone came to visit them for a last goodbye. After that the dead walk into a portal that leads them towards Genesis to be born again. Where, when and as who you can only find out on the Millennium Archives, of course, only the Centipedes and the Gods know this.
