The Lotus eaters

I
We land on the shore,
step onto unknown sand,
though ever sure,
we're cautious where we stand,
They jump out at us,
ambush if you will,
they come towards,
and let out shrill
high pitched screams,
force feed you Lotus juice,
your sense ripped at the seams,
they aim to seduce.
You fall,
then awake with dizziness,
your head warns, get away from it all,
no more life, no more stress.
II
Struggling ever more, every year,
so much pain that we bear,
yet we don't shed a tear,
work makes us break,
although we never take them,
we can't take the pain,
it's like dreaming of sunshine,
and living in rain.
III
Lie with me, thro' the sleepy days,
of blazing heat and gentle waves,
wind fluttering like butterflies,
hiding you from all the lies.
Sunkissed skin like leaves of a palm tree,
nature, is life's true sanctuary.
