I was frantic, rummaging through my pack to gather anything that could be useful. I filled my pockets with little packs of chemicals, toxins, and powders along with other nick-knacks then ran down the hall that I heard the roar originate from. Think Cara Think! What could be in this tower that would make that noise? Knife in hand, I jogged down the hallway shouting her name.
“SOKA!! SOKA WERE ARE YOU!”
Rounding the next corner I saw it. In front of me was a huge troll. Directly on the other side of it I saw Soka make eye contact, she wasn’t happy to see me. The troll had its attention on her with his back facing towards me. I saw that Soka had already shot at it. There was two arrows in its back and one in its leg. Looking around to assess the situation I saw that there was a torch on the floor off to the side. Perfect! Trolls are strictly nocturnal and have night vision that can easily be ruined by any kind of light.
Soka was in trouble, the troll still hadn’t noticed me and was closing in on her. Retrieving the dagger from her belt, she held it in front of her across her chest in a weak display of defense. She still had her bow but it obviously was proving not to be effective. I quickly ran forward and grabbed the torch.
“Soka, CATCH!”
I threw the torch and watched as it flew past the monster’s shoulder. Soka caught it, but the monster heard me. Turning its attention to me, he swung his spiked club at my head while I dove for the floor. Suddenly, I heard an ear splitting wail of pain that shook the walls. I immediately covered my ears to keep them from bleeding. Risking a glance up from my place on the floor, I saw that Soka had jumped the monster from behind and was sitting on its shoulders. She jabbed the flaming torch right into its eyes. The beast screamed and grabbed its face in pain, stumbling. Using this distraction, I grabbed a packet of powder from my coat pocket, ripped off the top and threw the contents at the troll’s legs. This numbed its legs immediately, causing him to loose balance and fall to his knees. Soka did a backflip off its shoulders to land in front of the beast. She drew her dagger and made a clean cut across its neck. The monster clutched at the life blood spilling down its chest and released one last gurgled cry of shock and pain before completely falling to the floor.
A/N I dont have the 4th chapter written yet and I do not know when it will be finished, so this is all your going to get for a while from "The Journey". Sorry guys
