Chris and I are not voyeurs

but we like watching vintage TV

especially ‘Challenge’ and

The Price is Right with Brucie

when a busty female is chosen

and bounces to ‘Contestants’ Row’

we hope she wins

and if she wins we zone in

on the host’s right hand

encircling her waist

and scope Forsyth’s thumb,

‘innocently’ nudging ever

closer to the underwire

some fellah scooped a silver tea tray

and a car was his if he won

a game played from a balcony

the ‘National Treasure’ winked at camera two,

and asked, the punter,

(due to play ‘Plinko’)

‘fancy going upstairs with ‘Sally’?’

(a hostess on the show)

the crowd cheered the innuendo

first up, the fellah, Sally behind,

and pressing her close, the host,

Brucie had to pass Sally

to get to the punter

no escape for Sal as all grin and leering

Brucie chest-to-chested tight against her

milking the moment and taking his time

the audience whooped, Sally was livid

then stepped to the floor

and shot a wide smile at camera one

I think Chris muttered,

’the nineties eh? diff'rent world’

but it might have been me.
