Summer!

And my own crumpled heap of promises
dissolve on the still wind, you follow them
toward the fall where Kai still stares toward
the dawn, in solemn vigilance;
A description given; these parasite dreams,
craven insects burrowing tributaries through the
eyes to see a sea that seems to flow from a horizon
as hallucinatory as these plastic trees
before me, laid upon the lawn, harangued by faux flamingos,
a display of stillness in spite of atrophy's wish to
expel our carefully manicured hedgerows and
closely cropped grasses...
Seasons in bloom coax the multitude into buzzing vortices
every deckchair draped with flaccid land ape,
arms swatting languidly like bovine tails those
insects trying to pollinate their nipples.
Sunshine days, glory days, the tides bringing their bounty;
schools of brown trout and sewer spawned objects
mimicking jellyfish and pollock...
and you turn your gaze skyward, the looming shadow
emits a ball that draws nearer and nearer as you stare
transfixed...until it hits...
