I am but a man,
Mortal and fallible,
My mistakes many and myriad,
But never have I denied them,
Never claimed perfection,
Never claimed superiority,
I am but a man.
I am but a man,
Not rich or important,
Not handsome or suave,
Nor overly smart,
Clumsy with others,
Foolish and unsure,
I am but a man.
I am but a man;
Plain and simple,
Honest and honourable,
Dependable and true,
My loyalty can never be bought,
But is for the asking.
I am but a man.
I am but a man;
Flawed as any other,
This is what I am, who I am,
‘tis little enough to offer, this I know,
Nought more than heart, body and soul;
All that I am and can ever be.
I am but a man.

Hi darkenwolf,
the best qualities are the ones that make us up who
we are. Your qualities are your artistic way of
expressing yourself so well, as in this poem.
Jenny.
