Easter Saturday 8/4/23
Is this the time of year when we the people take back control from the bureaucrats, sharks, and business machines who have been ruling our lives?
The Left have so far failed to come up with the magic remedy for the ills of Capitalism which will appeal to the voters. Honest Government is needed, but they must be given ideas to fill their minds with the right policies. (There are too many Simple Minds and Talking Heads giving their input. Too many voters get all their ideas from Television and social media! Everything has become a Blur, and we don’t know who we are any more!)
I always thought governments accept too much the advice of the supercharged business minds. Beware they are not necessarily working for the benefit of mankind, or the ordinary man and woman. Perhaps we need a New Order, or we will continue to be on The Skids! I for one would be pleased if we could create a real Utopia! Or at least find an Oasis!
On Facebook Alfred sees a post advertising an article about the ‘rebalancing of the economy’ which is apparently going on. Alfred has not read the article, and probably cannot without paying or joining a newspaper. So he doesn’t bother, so consequently he doesn’t really know what it is all about, and can only guess! However he may well be able to shortcut to an understanding of it all by reading the comments. The commentators use initials or technical language, which even Alfred, with his University degree, cannot easily translate! (How then will they get their message across if no one understands what you are trying to say?)
We are apparently being pushed into ways of living that we don’t want, and have not chosen! (probably true!) The workers are revolting ; half of Britain are on strike – those are the sections of the workforce who have steady government employed jobs! (The rest cannot afford to strike!) They are seeking to claw back some of the Cost of Living losses they have suffered in recent years and in a severe inflationary present.

It is frustrating to read on
It is frustrating to read on the IFS website that neither Conservatives nor Labour financial plans add up, whatever either say, and that is including the severe cuts on public services both have put into their sums but are not mentioning despite being "crystal clear" in every sentence. So there will be more hardship and more strikes. And no mention of Gaza or climate change, either, as you say

Not sure you will ever get
Not sure you will ever get "Honest government" regardless of who is in power. That's the nature of politics. It should be all about increasing the overall welfare/wellbeing of the electorate. Sadly...inevitably...it becomes about ideology.
