I Just Can't Be Happy Today (Virus Version)

(Based on/ influenced by the lyrics of the famous 1979 track by The Damned)
They’re closing the schools
They’re storing the books
The church is empty
The priests are in isolation
The radios telling us to stay home
The telly’s on all the time,
Telling us what to do
The army’s coming onto the streets
The devil is in the air and on the surfaces,
Its on the breath of every stranger we meet,
Po-ten-tially,
And even neighbours and friends, or even relatives,
Might be the ones who just might give you the kiss of death,
without meaning to of course.
I Just Can’t Be Happy Today
(This is a reminder of part of the original 1979 track by The Damned)
They’re closing the schools
They’re burning the books
The church is in ruins
The priests hang on hooks
The radios on ice
The telly’s been banned
The army’s in power
The devil commands
