Isle Of Wight : Alum Bay : Day1

On the first day fully on the Isle Of Wight we go to Alum Bay and the Needles, which are not far from where we are staying in a cottage. We do not attempt to walk over the Needles point and cliffs this time, (Some of us did that at the end of the holiday) but enjoy the entertainments and food of the Alum Bay Theme Park. When released from baby minding duties I finally go down the paths and steep steps to the coloured sands and pebbles of Alum Bay with one of our party, and get to clamber again over the pebbly beach. Many Indian looking people are on the beach, whether from India itself or perhaps from the big cities of London and elsewhere, in family and possibly school groups.
I stop while a nice looking Chinese lady takes a picture, and she thanks me with a lovely smile.
Here by the sea and sands you can feel alive. Somehow the beach is a place where land meets sea and raw energy is produced. It is the end of the nation, a place where nature exists.
A beach is a place where a man can feel, he’s the only soul in the world that’s real!
Cowes : Day 4
Ridiculous priced flats, millionaire mansions,
Fish and chips on the promenade with fizzy pop,
And foot passenger transport to Southampton.
Nice place, we liked it.
