The Middle Man
In the garden, near the gravestones
There’s a man who’s dressed in black.
He clutches at his chest,
He’s no time for looking back.
His assured a place in heaven
But he’s not sure it’s even there.
After all his life spent on his knees
And half his life in prayer
Middle Man
Middle Man
Don’t be the Middle Man
Don’t get caught in the middle, man.
In the alley by the high street
Behind the seamens' bar
There’s a girl who once was lovely
Who wished to be a star.
At her feet their lies a body
He took all that she could sell
He is bound to meet his maker
On his way off down to hell
Middle Man
Middle Man
Don’t be the Middle Man
Don’t get caught in the middle, man.
Facillitate to earn - that's great.
Sometimes it isn't what it seems.
A crue hand can be dealt by fate
On the way to someone's dreams
Middle Man
Middle Man
Don’t be the Middle Man
Don’t get caught in the middle, man.
At the airport in a car park
In a dark blue car for hire
There’s a body bound and lifeless
Robbed of its hearts desire.
Bought a vessel full of oil
To sell on reaching land
Ended up in a casino
With no Aces in his hand
Middle Man
Middle Man
Don’t be the Middle Man
Don’t get caught in the middle, man.
