Levelling Down

My parents named me Jimmy Jugg.
Teachers think I'm just a mug.
They tend to lead me by the lug.
And when I'm naughty, they give it a tug.
I just wanted God to give me a hug.
And now here's the answer, with the bug.
I may be as slow as the proverbial slug,
But by killing school, a hole's been dug.
Will my friends too, be a nice thick rug?
