Lucky Heather

When I was small the worst thing about England was the weather.
It's the least of our problems now, as my skin turns to leather.
There's plenty of talk about getting together.
But it has all the impact of a rather small feather.
Perhaps we'll need to gather more lucky Heather.
Because there's a growing number at the end of their tether.

Too much greed, and too much need.
We've reached a point where we can barely feed.
The national debt apparently doesn't matter.
But that's a mistake; we're going down with a clatter.
I remember the credit crisis of 2008,
So keep watching your TV's, and witness our fate.
