The Weight Of Things To Come
By Dynamaso
- 371 reads
I stretched my mind into the future
To places I’ve yet to see
Conversations I’ve yet to hear
Without the implications
Of being awed or uncomfortable
It relieved me to be so detached
Beholden not to being present
But to being vicariously invisible
Taking in everything without measure
Completely and utterly unencumbered
Snapping back to here and now
Leaves a bitterness I can’t fathom
A deep longing for times yet had
Of memories I’ve had to unmake
To leave room for those to come
In time those voids will be filled
I will be able to look back and wonder
At the future I longed to see
Where my gold days expand deliciously
Into weightless reminiscences
