DESPAIR I'll never cope
I'll rip my electric blue dress
And tramp it down into
The rotting apples on the ground
And naked I shall weep.
HOPE Wear your electric blue dress
That matches the beauty of
Your bonnie blue eyes.
Gather the rotting apples on the ground
And cleanse them with
The purity of your tears
Then nectar ye shall make.
DESPAIR My pain o'erpowers my strength
And black and blue
My spirit screams unaided.
Hope - a fool's diet coke
A pound shop rip off
That lures me down the rotten lanes
Crawling like an infested maggot
Once more inside
The barbed wire nowhere grounds.
HOPE Maggot you never are
But on God's green apples
Ye shall feast.
DESPAIR Redress will never come
For harm that was dealt to me
When I had no defence
Yet through my inky black dense choking fog
Shine lights of blue and green.
HOPE Raise yourself from the ground
In readiness
To make the rotten whole.
DESPAIR AND HOPE
Knit we together
Ourselves
The rotting apples on the ground
The electric blue dress.
THE END

A clever and interesting poem

A clever and interesting poem which uses the Inspiration Point in a variety of ways, in its entirety in the first two stanzas or broken down by its elements throughout the other verses as a basis for a dialogue between Hope and Despair and a final duet.
