Tom

Malcolm agreed to go to Costa Coffee with Tom; followed by walk to Croyland Gardens and to the pond where Tom dipped in his toes...near the fish.
Then they would get cream cakes and eat them in the busy street. It felt that there still existed disdain about getting flakes and cream all over your face. Tom always liked food; trouble was...so did Tom. In lots of ways Tom and Malcolm were well suited. Tom was lonely but so was Malcolm. Tom played his part of a little boy; living in a big mans suit whilst Malcolm was a big man....who never seemed to fit in.
He wasn't good at conversation and too honest for his own good. If someone looked old Malcolm would tell them; if they didn't listen then he'd ask them to stop chatting...but would chatter on himself.
