where the grass turns brown.
I meet her in a diner
off the interstate,
maybe have a smoke
and a soda while I wait.
She’s gotta good job
in elementary school,
First time I met her,
I said ‘Teaching, cool.’
Bella works with a bucket
and a squeegee mop,
meets for secret lovin’
with the wife of a cop.
