More Politics For Beginners

Come clean, come clean
It’s still a crime, if never seen.
Hands in pockets, snouts in the trough,
the old school tie will get you off.
Lies breed lies,
and money breeds money,
a terrible haircut,
but it’s just not funny.
You can’t accuse them
of punching down;
we don’t count
for the current clown.
Fairness means nothing,
no more than levelling up,
we’re the rank outsiders
in the class World cup.
“I’m ashamed, I’m ashamed.”
how the press is gamed
so everything’s fine:
we choke as we swallow the party line.
Fool us once, fool us again,
fool us forever, until when
we rise up with fury or even hate,
and we are the barbarians at the gate.

Yes! How aweful now though to
Yes! How aweful now though to listen to Just William and imagine him becoming that! But Thankyou, too, because listening to Just William on radio mostly gives dialogue and not so much description, and that is a brilliant quote!
Am not sure how much it is about class, these days, re Kwatang and Sunak and Zahawi. More about not paying taxes, therefore not caring about those who rely on what rich people's taxes could supply, if they were paid.
Was thinking the other day, THANK GOODNESS so many rich people become Tory MPs as worrying how voters will think of them if found out to be tax dodging is the only way they can be persuaded to pay any tax at all
Is horrible to think of the BBC, one of the few things to be proud of about the UK, being sold for a loan to a man willing to reduce its strengths in order to save money
