Every king starts green,
Every emperor lean
And every queen.
I know I wane I know I fall
And yet, as King, I bear it all.
I know I ail I know I toil
And yet, as King, I ne'er recoil.
I know I'm judged, I know I'm weak
And yet, as King, not am I meek.
For there it is:
In a sheen so bold, or,
Vertical livelihood to me, in gold,
as is seen by them, u'sable to
shout, before God Must I bow.
Then comes it,
that final anchor,
the one I curse as stranger,
because He chose me,
should He exist.
But I just die, with man unto the abyss.
