I would rather love
than write poetry
these words are a poor substitute
for the lustrous enfolding
the wilful collapse
of resolve and understanding
these lines
broken in places
only a fool
would consider apt
a chipped silhouette
of belonging
poetry you sad hobby
don't elevate yourself
too much
for all the verses
ever ever written
cannot muster the effect
of even the most
(drunken) (mis-timed)
(slight) and (passing)
(illicit) or (clumsy)
even (blind) or (ignoble)
(snatched) (terse)
touch.
