New Writing

Now I've left my sadness behind
I can hardly write anymore

I try to write of love, my feelings for you
Maybe it's because after all these long 24 years of life I am totally happy
Maybe I struggle because I've never known love until I met you
I used to scoff at the idea
I never dreamed of someone to call my forever and happy ever after
I thought it was something I could make for myself

And maybe I struggle because how can I possibly put you into words?
It's hard but believe me I'll try
You deserve to be immortalised in poetry
An art form as beautiful as you
The only way I can do you justice
And describe at the very least just a fraction of what you mean to me
