Mozart’s dad had a twinkle

A sparkle of which Mrs Mozart had an inkle

In a nursery God did sprinkle

The child genius with a tinkle

A diamond in the sky

This prodigy pondered ‘why’

Carefully caressing the octave

Was born an immortal tune

Star-bound music filled the room

Wolfgang could not even with a plectrum

Unpick the mysteries of  the hidden spectrum

The colours he saw that night

Are only a fraction of the light

All are part of a wondrous spectrum
