A Kiss to Last a Lifetime
Softly, sweetly almost without intention,
My shaking, school shirted arm,
Its butterfly cuff flapping,
Slips about your fourth form waist
Over your grey school tunic.
I am in the whiteness of my youth.
Crisp, clean: pure as a fresh linen sheet.
Moon faced with taught lemon lips,
My humming bird heart trembling,
I wait for the quench of our first kiss.
Your moist breath, hot water bottle warm,
Sweet as violets, soft as mohair,
Oozing comfort seeps into my every corner.
Passion permeates the ether.
Spirits in union - first time - one time.
I taste the nectar you place upon my tongue
Jelly legs in jelly land, sweet quagmire.
Starburst fills the air: the porch light.
Moping you walk up the path;
Pollination now a distant dream.
Innocent we dipped our toes into the blood warm
Pool of love and sex. .Touched then untouched
Left with a sixty year sensual memory
Often visited; strengthening, never fading.
Amo, amas, amat, amazing!

There are some wonderful
There are some wonderful metaphors in this poem and I thought it oozed passion.
Very much enjoyed reading.
