Last Stand

The sword is heavy in his hand
As he gazes across the field
He feels like more than just a man
For he knew he should not yield
His armor is dented and torn
But he kept his faith as his shield
This is the reason he was born
For he knew he would not yield
They said he could be free
No cause for his sword to wield
Just give to them the knee
But he knew he could not yield
He had seen his brothers bleed
As their fates were being sealed
To fight he wished there was no need
But the enemy would not yield

Sounds interesting:)
I enjoy poems with a story to them.
Really like this one because I just recently finished Game of Thrones and this sounds like a poem that would fit in that series. XD
Wild guess at meaning: seeing how he mentioned brother bleeding and staring across the field, this must be a medieval war scene. His army is being offered the chance to surrender, but knows they must not surrender. Close? XD
