90’s internet technology precluded humour;
the bing-bing-brrrrs of a 56k modem
wear thin after the third dial-up, and twitter’s
140 characters elicit waffle. Better to
do what the American students above
me do, and shackle “Abraham Linksys” to
O2wireless, and leave it to percolate the floors
and unwelcome doors of nearby flats
like nitrous oxide. I’m willing to bet, too, that
their WEP code is even funnier. The artist
in 3F2 changed his to “I’veSeenYouNude” to vie
with “Hannah Buttercup_SKY_54g”.
Last night they ate drumsticks
and jellylips on the street corner,
her back moon-crescented at his touch,
before he leaned in to
seal a good, reliable connection.

Very clever and funny work.
Very clever and funny work. The last line really ends the poem perfectly. I was confused for a minute that you were equating Twitter with 90s technology. Any way to clear that up?
