Women’s Rights
As women are always right
May as well hide your wrongs in plain sight
She’ll find them eventually all right
And for your benefit fly them high as any kite
There is no place to run for you; a tunnel with no light
Once again affirmed you are a nuisance, a wedded blight
Suggest even for an instant that she might be wrong
She’ll justify her position: have you got long?
Forcing you into rocky place with siren song
With all the subtlety of Empire State’s King Kong
But this time it’s not Fay Wray’s potential fate
It’s yours – you forgot to close the garden gate
You have no dog and it’s not as if you’ve had a spate
Of marauding trespassers up the front path of late
You even feel the last one in was daughter, Kate
But she is right and you are wrong and that’s it mate!
