Christmas by the Sea

Moonbeams on the sea,
Dredging soul-animals to the shore.
A Magician's gift - the silver orb, the lapping water.
And snowflakes disappearing on each wave,
My memories crushed by iciness,
My present real and unresolved.
Starlight glinting in shards of hope,
Christmas cheer in whiskey highballs, turkey dinners and sherry trifle,
While the eternal continuum, moon-tied, gives in and out,
And a louche couple orgasm wildly,
Crossing the seascape to dreamland.
It is pink and blue and violet-cerise,
Whilst outside is black magic, encrusted with diamonds,
A yellow moon, hanging by a thread,
Retaining its hold on Man.

A winsome toast to unrequited
A winsome toast to unrequited love. Your descriptive pen paints a surrealistic setting. I love the dreamscape that you have sketched.I think that soul animals would sound better as animal souls. I do think that the poem would read better if it was broken up into lines. Here is an example:
Moonbeams on the sea,
dredging animal souls to the shore.
A Magician's gift - the silver orb, the lapping water,
and snowflakes disappearing on each wave.
My memories crushed by iciness;
my present real and unresolved.
Starlight glinting in shards of hope;
Christmas cheer in whiskey highballs,
turkey dinners and sherry trifle,
while the eternal continuum, moon-tied, gives in and out,
and a louche couple orgasm wildly,
crossing the seascape to dreamland.

whilst outside is black magic, encrusted with diamonds,
a yellow moon, hanging by a thread,
retaining its hold on Man.

Hilary, however it's written, this is beautiful. A lovely thing to read on waking, and I thank you for it.
