I am writing from an internet cafe five minutes from the Moulin
Rouge. I really should be back in the restaurant finishing my coffee,
but fear disciplinary action from the fishy one if I fail to meet my
daily quota.
I have 15 minutes net time left, so heres the story.
Cheap deal weekend to Paris for Bastille Day celebrations.
Unfortunately these coincide with first weekend of English school
holidays. M25 a nightmare, aarive late at Luton, miss flight.
Dave, the Easyjet desk head honcho gives me his best "I've heard every
excuse, don't even try to ask me to let you on the flight" stare. I
rebook for 4.00pm
I spend the next three hours ringing friends, hoping for words of
comfort. All I get is abuse from people faced with the weekend trip to
Tesco's. Finally arrived at hotel at 9.00pm. Copies of the Guardian and
Observer strewn everywhere: obviously not one for the locals.
Cant write more, only two minutes left, and the keyboard is layed out
in a totally different way. No delete key! All right arrow and backtab
for amendments. Bloody Frogs.
