Relapse

She walked into the kitchen
Her eyes set on the scale
The monster that had been slowly defeating her for weeks
She was doing good this week
Eating
Exercising
Sleeping
The urge had gone away
She could eat some pudding
And force her mind to keep it down

Today she woke up
Told herself
"maybe I'll check my weight today"
She wanted to see what she had gained or loss
She stepped on the scale
Closed her eyes
And stood
For minutes
Hours
Days it seemed like

She opened her eyes
Looked down and saw it
She did not see the weight she wanted
She ran
Away from her scale and to the bathroom
Kneeled down in front of the white toilet bowl
Stuck her finger in her mouth
She did it
She ruined the progress
Ruined everything she worked for
She was back to day one
