Huv A Wee drink Hen?

Wembley weekend in the seventies was a riot.When Scotland invaded
England every two years in order to try and gub the Auld Enemy at
football.It was especially sweet if we beat them at Wembley.One wee
story that I remember well was on the tube train to Wembley in 1977,
the year we won 2-1 and brought home the goal posts.Scots fans always
carried their "portable drinks cabinets" and fully partook of the bevvy
en route to the game.I watched and sang the songs along with the dozens
of fans crowded into the train.One fan spotted a genteel looking lady
sitting by herself trying not to attract the attention of "these
terrible Jocks"The fan took his can of Tennents away from his lips and
asked her,"What,ll ye huv tae drink hen?"She was horrified."No thanks,
I only drink Campari," she replied.Not to be undone the fan shouted
down the train,"Haw,Shuggy pass up the Campari fer the wee wummin
here"It was duly passed up the compartment to him.He then triumphantly
held it out to her by the bottle,s neck with the words,"Huv a wee
swally o, that missus."Never refuse a drink from a Scot in a crowd on a
train.;
