Led Zeppelin Four

This year is the 30th anniversary of the release of possibly the
greatest rock album of all time.It is Led Zeppelin,s fourth album.I
remember as a twelve year old waiting patiently for the official
release in 1971.I had been into Zeppelin for two years and had their
other three albums already.I never thought that the band could better
the tracks on albums one, two and three but i was wrong.They had
produced the searing blues of "Since I,ve Been Loving You", the soul of
"Killing Floor" the driving beat and pounding drums of "The Immigrant
Song" and the classic"Whole Lotta Love"As far as "Killing Floor" we had
lyrics like"Squeeze my lemon,till the juice runs down my leg.....the
way you squeeze my lemon,I,m gonna fall right outta bed"Also the beauty
of "the Thank You Song" just couldn,t be bettered.or so I thought.I
bought the fourth album and carefully put it on my new stereo.There is
something magical about the smell of new vinyl.This album did not
disappoint.Pure heavy rock tracks like"Black Dog", "Rock And Roll","and
"Misty Mountain Hop" blasted out of the speakers along with the
pounding drumming of John Bonham on "When The Levee Breaks"The Tolkien
type lyrics of "Battle Of Evermore" sat well with American syles of
"Going To California" and "Four Sticks".But the greatest rock anthem of
all time still had to appear.The first time i heard"Stairway To Heaven"
