Heaven breaks loose

As often is the case. We have no idea.
It happens when we are in the elevator. It strikes when we
notice the floor numbers, look aside, gaze at each other.
Heaven breaks loose. The languid strings by which we are
stuck to the earth break down, decisively.
Like stout dodoes we hover through a prehistoric world.
If we believed in evolution, we would already be extincted.
But we're still alive. And in what way. We bounce against trees,
hit relentlessly road surfaces, float in intimate streams.
Which instinct makes we keep flying around restlessly ?
Makes us immune to disease, drought, death?
Later, much later. We recognize our naked behavior.
We smile conspiratorial. Call it love.
