My Sweet Reprise

You toss and you turn in your final throes,
Awake in the darkness, the light world unkown,
Of all mortals here it's me you despise,
I fed you your dreams, a mouthful of lies
There was once a world, in which all was fine,
The future an oyster, its pearl soon to shine,
I took it from you, that you hold dear,
For all good must soon face the darkness and fear
A tear shall fall, it falls on us all,
For each one of us soon must answer my call,
So you look to your gods, in them you do preach,
But take heed, this was not my lesson to teach
You slaughter each other, yet lay blame in me,
When I move to tend to the family tree,
Life long eternal, is this your desire?
But let me assure you, soon you will tire
The world you see, is not so large a place,
And none so unchanging as the human race,
You'll learn too soon, the blame lies there,
Not in me, but in yourselves so fair.
