The Beginning

Once there was a kid
Who loved a girl who couldn't take it
It tore zir apart,
But ze knew ze couldn't fake it.
But the world keeps turnin'
The fire keeps burnin'
The gears keep spinning
This is only the beginning.
There once was a girl
Who stopped eating to be thin.
She couldn't see her beauty,
She just wanted to fit in.
But the world keeps turnin'
The fire keeps burnin'
The gears keep spinning
This is only the beginning.
Once there was a dainty charm,
A flame within' her eyes,
Who brought a blade upon her arm
And told the world some lies.
But the world keeps turnin'
The fire keeps burnin'
The gears keep spinning
This is only the beginning.
We all will have a rough patch,
We will tumble down.
We all must turn our own latch
And crawl back to the ground.
But don't you worry, darlin'
Things aren't always as they seem;
For that light at the end of the tunnel is not a train,
But hope that gleams.
And the world keeps turnin'
The fire keeps burnin'
The gears keep spinning
This is only the beginning.
