Tool

First there were forests
In which urination was a free, natural thing
And defecation.
Then portaloos appeared
This added privacy and taboo,
Handwash which told us that
To touch our genitals would
Spread disease.
I woke a morning to find
That no longer were portaloos merely dark boxes
But separated between woman and man,
Not only is urination a secret thing
But so vastly intimate
That half the population
Should never experience the others,
Not even the stage upon which it takes place,
Defecation, a tool
For fools and segregation.
