Moonlight

Why does moonlight always
Send shivers down my spine
Like cold fingers stroking
This lonely back of mine
As sadness seeps in through the cracks
In my resolutions
Showing up the flaws
In my feeble half-solutions
I smile, but the joy in it
Escapes me tonight
It's as if my emotions are too tired
As if my heart is afraid to fight
I should paint my face
I should wear my best
I should go out and find another mind
To help me through the mess you left behind
And yes
I remember, as I turn my face
And silver plays across my breasts
I remember walking with you
In that same moonlight
And what comes to me next
Is the way it reflected in your eyes
As you turned to kiss my forehead
In that simple, favourite gesture&;#8230;
But I don't remember moonlight feeling creepy then.
