Resentful
It's just a pinprick where the needle went in
Sharp through my skin
And a small swell of blood,
But in that red bump is a million fears,
A whole river of tears that lead
To a broken heart rubbish dump;
Here are the pieces of human weakness -
Women that fell for the lines and the lies,
Men on their knees, clawing at needs,
And a heap of goodbyes,
And there's a steady stream of shattered dreams
Lining up by the gate: single file could-have-beens
And tried-to-believes.
Angry pinprick
Hurting, resentful
Caused, if not by you, then blamed on you.
