Lost in The Waters Prologue

Allison stood tall, her hands clenching into tight fists. She could feel her nails digging into the soft flesh of her palms. She glared at the violent waves that splashed sea foam throughout the air and onto the black sand of the beach beneath her bare feet. It was Allison versus the vast open ocean panning out in front of her. She didn’t know where she was, or why she was there, but she knew that her mission was to get to the other side of the ferocious waters that danced in front of her.
Her hair clung to her skin from the weight of the pouring rain. The white lace dress she wore seemed to weigh 15 pounds too heavy on her shoulders. It was getting more and more difficult for Allison to stand. The sand began sinking below her, swallowing up her ankles and dragging her body towards the very core of the earth itself. Panic rose from her stomach, snaking its way up her body and finally settling at her throat, where it began to choke her.
That was when Allison began to hear the voices. It was almost as if she was in a dome and people were speaking to her from above. Their voices muffled by a thick pane of glass, the pronunciation of each word almost inaudible. As Allison went to scream for help, a voice finally became clear enough for her to make out the words. “Do you want some water?” the voice asked.
Water? Allison thought, I need help! The sand reached her shins now and the waves seemed to be creeping up closer to her on the shore. I’m going to drown here, her mind races. The sand will pull me down and the waves will wash me away. The panic continued to hold an iron grip around her throat. Her vocal cords completely immobilized as her lungs began screaming for air. She watched the dark waters get more violent. She felt the raindrops whip against her skin harder than before.
I’m not even going to get the chance to take one deep breath before I go under? I’m going to die! The voice responded back to her and echoed through the thick glass that Allison had imagined, “How was work today?”
Who are you?! Please! What are you talking about?! Just help me! Her thoughts bled desperation and she could feel the urgency run throughout every inch of her body. The sand began to consume her dress and she could feel the weight of the dress causing her to sink faster. The sand now came to her hip and the water now slid against the black crystals of sand and began tapping into the lacey fabric of her dress.
Help me! Help me, please! But the sound wouldn’t come out of her mouth. Her lungs burned for oxygen and she was convinced that she could feel her face turning blue. Her body began to shiver as the air caressed her skin with an icy grip, while the rain washed away the rest of her warmth. This is how I’m going to go? Her eyes looked up at the sky, she wasn’t sure why. Whether there was a dome with people on the other side, or whether there was actually a God, she spoke her thoughts loudly and desperately to anyone that may hear them. Buried, drowned, and freezing until I reach the point of death. Please. Help. Me.
“Can you pass me that blanket.” Another voice said. You’re mocking me now? Who the fuck are you? Fucking help me!
