She Wanted To Be A Dafodil ( lyrical )

* This is the lyrical attempt, a couple of years after the original Free Verse poem of the same name.
Alone her pale complexion blended
into the walls that never ended,
Her clothing drooping and wilting like the leaves
she knows better yet she still believes,
Someday she alone might be embraced
until then other flowers are chased
( chorus )
She wanted to be a dafodil
instead she was arranged,
She wanted to be a dafodil
into the broken hearted and deranged
Alone her shiny shoes distorted
her nervousness, and angst ill afforded,
Opportunities to cash in that night
she went home to keep her legs tight,
She then picked up the phone unable to deny
how much gooey tears she wanted to cry
( chorus )
She wanted to be a dafodil
instead she was arranged,
She wanted to be a dafodil
into the broken hearted and deranged
Alone after her thorny suitor left
into the garden of sorrow's deeper depth,
She wanted to be near the pretty blooms
only she is shunned from those rooms,
Where parties linger and such is the occassion
that dafodils only offer up suffocation
( chorus )
She wanted to be a dafodil
instead she was arranged,
She wanted to be a dafodil
into the broken hearted and deranged
