I fell over and grazed my knee,
I didn’t want to, but I saw a bee,
It flew on me when I had my drink,
I ran so fast I didn’t think
As I writhed around, did I hear a crack?
I really hoped that bee did not come back.
I rolled around in so much pain
Faced death, came back, then faced death again.
I screamed for mum and she came now,
“Oh my poor love, why sufferest thou”?
My knee, inflamed, she could see my muddle,
And held me tightly in a cuddle
She kissed my knee to heal it faster,
And once we’re home, would add a plaster,
She told me from bees I shouldn’t run,
That I’m a big boy now… I’m thirty one.
