Monday Sonnet: Diversity

Is this another fucking ‘funny’ poem?
Yes, yes it is – it’s not my fault if all
The words that girls commission to me fall
Under categories of arduous omen
(I.e. – it’s hard to tell if they will get me laid).
The subject of the week affords diverse
Tangential pots by which to boil my verse
Since it’s ‘diversity’ – but I’m afraid
The only thing that comes to mind is ‘racism,’
A theme as boring as a toilet wank
If you’re not racist, and as dry as raisins
For those who are. But – and here’s the prank –
We’re all too racist for verse to reverse sins.
My poems will not do. You need a spank.
