City as ocean: streets that overlap like waves, unsunk Atlantis,
cultures calcified into coral reef. I have left that behind.
And I walked probing for my depths across an Atlantic
made up horizon to horizon of shallow waters and silt.
I'm standing at the edge of a trench, I found
it at last and I can neither breathe nor sleep.
I'll step over that edge I'll let myself sink as
my flotsam lies detach to the alien seabed of truth.
