Upon the universe of things,

By mighty hand The Error springs.

It's like a sin, it's like a vow

from Lucifer, cause he knows how

Deliver Evil to your heart,

And that is why we dwell apart.

The light has sunk behind my power.

I'm flying high or plunging lower

Into this dark impertinence.

My eyes still glow with false pretense,

For I will lie, and that's my duty,

Fulfill the world by faking beauty.

And how I laugh !...When I consider

How much wrongdoing I deliver.

I throw the runes of destiny

So I divine the fatuity,

The blindness of the men entrapped

In this obscure and pointless trap.
